Leave, remote work and equipment requests on paper? In PLYNTUM each request goes to a manager with the decision on record, and approved leave shows in the workload view, so cover is planned, not improvised.
What is in the unpaid leave request
The file, plyntum-unpaid-leave-request.docx, starts with the addressee and the employee, then has five blocks:
- Request: leave without pay from the first to the last day inclusive, the number of calendar days, the day back at work, and an optional reason.
- Notice: two boxes to tick, one for a request given at least 2 weeks ahead and one for the exception, with a line to explain it.
- Cover while away: the work or client, who covers it and whether the handover is done, how the person can be reached, if at all, and the employee’s signature.
- For the employer: the date the request was received, who received it, the number and date of the order that confirmed the leave, and remarks.
- For the records: unpaid leave already taken this year, the days in this request, the total, and how many of them are working days.
The document opens in Word, Google Docs and Pages. A grey note at the top explains how to use it; delete it before printing. The Georgian file, plyntum-ukhelfaso-shvebulebis-gantskhadeba.docx, is written as a formal Georgian application.
What Georgia’s Labour Code says about unpaid leave
The Code calls unpaid leave “leave without pay” and sets a minimum of 15 calendar days a year (Labour Code, Art. 31(2)). A contract may set more days but not fewer (Art. 31(4)). When the employee asks for it, the employer must grant it for a reasonable period (Art. 46(3), with Art. 46(2)(k)).
- Notice: before taking unpaid leave, the employee must warn the employer 2 weeks in advance. The exception is when urgent medical need or family circumstances make advance notice impossible (Art. 33).
- Pay: no pay is due for those days unless the law or the contract says otherwise (Art. 46(2)(k) and Art. 46(4)).
- Annual leave: unpaid leave longer than 7 working days does not count toward the 11 months that open the right to annual leave (Art. 34(2)).
- Form: the Code prescribes no mandatory form for a leave request or a leave order (Arts. 14, 23 and 31–36). The leave procedure belongs in the contract (Art. 14(1)(h)) and may also be written into the internal regulations (Art. 23(2)).
The articles are from the consolidated version of the Labour Code of 16 September 2026 on matsne.gov.ge. Civil servants follow the Law of Georgia on Public Service, which has its own rules. Every rule, article by article, is in our guide to leave rules in Georgia. This template is not legal advice; for anything that is not routine, ask a lawyer.
How to use it
- Hand it in at least 2 weeks before the first day of leave, unless the exception applies, and keep a copy on which the employer has written the date received.
- Arrange cover before you ask. A request that already names who covers each client is easier to arrange.
- The employer records the request and confirms the leave, for example with a leave order that names the dates and the type of leave.
- Mark the days on the timesheet. On the Georgian working time form, unpaid leave is marked „უ/შ“ (Order №01-15/ნ, Annex 1, Art. 5(4)); the Georgian version of our timesheet template has the code.
For paid annual leave, use the leave request form instead: it has the type of leave, working days and the manager’s decision.
Where PLYNTUM fits
If leave requests get lost in email and chat, PLYNTUM’s requests and approvals keep them in one place. Unpaid leave is its own request type: the employee sends it with the dates, a manager approves or rejects it, and the decision stays with the request. Leave requests are on every plan. PLYNTUM is not accounting software: it does not decide how many days a person is entitled to, and it does not calculate pay.
