Client management vs a sales CRM
| Sales CRM | Client management | |
|---|---|---|
| Starts | At the first contact | When work is agreed |
| Main record | Deal and pipeline stage | Client, its projects and its money |
| Question it answers | Will they buy? | What did we promise, what have we done, what do they owe? |
What a client record should hold
- Contacts and the agreement: scope, fee, retainer terms.
- Projects and open tasks.
- Changes agreed after the start, and what was decided about each.
- Hours worked and the cost of the work.
- Invoices, payments and the balance still due.
How PLYNTUM handles it
On every plan, the client record connects to its projects, retainer fee and deliverables, logged time, invoices, expenses and payments, so a new teammate can see what was agreed without searching email and chat. From Core, a private, read-only portal link shows the client their active retainer, projects, deliverables, recent invoices and payments, and the amount unpaid or overdue. The sales CRM (contacts, deals, pipeline) is planned and not available yet. See client and project management.
